In the new canon novel Legends of Luke Skywalker which takes place before Star Wars The Last Jedi, we get to learn of just how the Empire/Galaxy views Luke as a LIVING GOD, swinging his Green Lightsaber through space, destroying ships and playing with the galaxy as his toy. I'm curious as to how they view Snoke or Kylo Ren. I think that's something we'll know once The Last Jedi comes out.
